Support
Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) to establish Central Zone
Power Distribution Company (CZPDC) efficiently as possible and to
facilitate CZPDC after its establishment to functionalize as early
as possible. The objectives of the project is to identify CZPDC as
is issues and develop the CZPDC Corporatization Road Map, as the
basis for the Corporatization Detailed Design to be developed and
implemented in the next phase; start communication program with
important stakeholders as part of change management efforts, and
obtain stakeholders consensus on the CZPDC Corporatization Road Map;
identify CZPDC specific resource requirements to implement the
action plans identified in the CZPDC Corporatization Road Map;
establish Board of directors and recruit management team.

90 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project (2nd Unit )

Review
proposed combined cycle power plant (2nd unit) will run
at based load with an enhanced efficiency of about 45% compared to
30% to 32% efficiency from simple cycle gas turbine. The proposed
combined cycle plant, having two units of Gas Turbine Generating
units, two Heat Recoveries Steam Generators (HRSG) and one Steam
Turbine Generating unit will continue the operation of the Steam
Turbine Generating unit even if one Gas Turbine Generating
unit remain shut-down.

Dhaka-Chittagonj
Water Supply & Sanitation Project (Package: DS-3), Bangladesh
under World Bank fund, 2007 - 2009
The
project obtain techno-economic, socially and environmentally
acceptable solutions to relieve city dwellers from sufferings from
water logging problem and floods by improving drainage facilities,
and to obtain support for assistance in procurement, and supervision
of implementation of some or all of the identified activities which
will form part of the Dhaka Storm Water Drainage Component of the
proposed World Bank financed project. The Project shall comprise of
the activities related to the preparation of the "Dhaka Storm
Water Drainage" component of tile proposed project, which would
include: Preparation of Detailed Designs (DD) and Bidding Documents
(BD) for the construction of two new pumping stations
and drainage; Study of the retention ponds, and environmental
assessment and preparation of environmental management and
mitigation plans for the construction of the pumping stations,
Preparation of the Terms of Reference (TOR) and Request for
Proposals (RFP) for the preparation of storm water drainage Master
Plan to meet demand up to 2025.

Earthquake
and Tsunami Emergency Support Project (Package 28) [TAR 39127],
Indonesia (Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam and Nias in North
Sumatra),
[ADB GRANT No.0002-INO] under ADB fund, 2006 -
2007
Indonesia
was severely affected by the earthquake and tsunami of December
2004. The Government
subsequently requested the Asian Development Bank [ADB] to fund the
rehabilitation and reconstruction of selected of roads and bridges
in the affected regions of the provinces of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam
[NAD] and Nias in North Sumatra [SUMUT] under the Earthquake and
Tsunami Emergency Support Project [ETESP].
Technoconsult International Limited (TCIL) is providing inter
alia the following services as an Associate with UCIL
and MADEP through its consultants:
Mobilization
and Inception of TA; Undertake detailed surveys to assess the
overall condition of the roads for rehabilitation; Identify suitable
Sub-Projects for Phase II in consultation with IA and other relevant
agencies; Preparations for Project Implementation ;Preliminary

Environmental Assessment of Dhaka Metropolitan Development Plan,
Under RAJUK, Bangladesh under World Bank fund, 2006 - 2007
The project mentioned the details sectors covered in the plan
(Traffic, Health, Housing Development and others); Environmental
issues discussed in the DMDP. Listed the local stakeholders
associated with these sectors. Described briefly about the
organizations that are going to review and implement the DMDP.A list
of major tasks envisaged for carrying out this project. Supported to
the design and implementation of the consultative and reviewed
process of the DMDP and incorporation of environmental
considerations in the consultative and review process.

Marine
and Fisheries Sector Strategy Study, Indonesia under ADB fund
[ADB TA No 4551-INO] 2005 - 2006
The
main purpose of the TA was to formulate and disseminate a
medium-term marine and fisheries sector strategy to support the
Government in developing policy, institutional reforms and
investments to promote sustainable and pro-poor marine and fisheries
development and resource management. The TA outputs were (i) a
review of the present status and development potential of
Indonesia’s marine and fisheries sector; (ii) a review of sector
policies and institutions and their relevance to sector development;
and (iii) a medium term strategy for the sustainable development and
management of the sector, including identification of investment
constraints and opportunities in the sector.

Bangladesh Under
ADB fund [ ADB Loan No. 1884-BAN (SF)5] 2005
- 2007
The
Bangladesh Power Development Board has planned to undertake
expansion, renovation and reinforcement of Power Distribution System
in the five designated towns under the 5-Town Distribution Project.
Asian Development bank has agreed to finance the project and has
signed a loan agreement. WZPDCL (West Zone Power Distribution
Company Ltd) has already carried out a preliminary survey in these
five towns under the project on the basis of which the project
concept paper (PCP) has been prepared.
Technoconsult International Limited (TCIL) is providing
Topographical survey; Distribution line and equipment survey and
compilation on maps; Surveying of 33/11 kV substation; Load reading
to check over-loads; Voltage-drop, system loss and sectionalizing
studies; Sub-Transmission and Distribution planning and detailed
networking design;33/11 kV Substation planning and detailed
networking design;33 kV, 11 kV, 11/0.4 kV and 0.4 kV system poles,
transformers and other equipment marking as per instruction.

North
Eastern State Roads Project, India under ADB fund [ADB
TA No. 4378-IND] 2005
– 2006
The
goal of the TA was to facilitate economic growth, poverty reduction
and environmental action by improving the North Eastern State Roads
network and road connectivity to the national and subregional road
networks. The TA identified 2,500 km of priority roads and prepare a
loan project that will finance priority investment for upgrading,
improvement/widening, and new construction of about 1,200 km of high
priority roads in the Region. The TA provided better access of
goods, people, and services from the region to other parts of India
as well as neighboring countries. Benefits was also be distributed
to poor communities by providing better access to market, health,
education, shortening travel distances and reducing travel times, as
well as improved road traffic safety. At the same time the project
assisted in subregional connection among the neighboring countries.
This was, in turn, improve regional cooperation, trade and tourism
potential.
A final objective was to build the capacity of road sector
institutions at state level and to increase the capacity of local
contractors to support road improvements in the long term. The
targets was to be achieved through this technical assistance (TA)
were: Prioritization of national highways, state highways, and major
district roads to improve the national and subregional level
connectivity; Feasibility study for an investment project for
improvement of priority state roads and bridges; An institutional
strengthening and capacity development plan to support
implementation of the investment/loan project and long term
sustainable road assets maintenance.

Improvement of Facilities in Galle and Tangalle Fishery Harbours
Damaged by Tsunami Disaster, Sri Lanka under JICA
fund , 2005-2007
The
main scope of works under Galle Fishery Harbour include: Demolition
of Building and Facilities; Refrigeration Ice Plant, Processing
Room; Building work: Ice Plant Building, CFHC Office Building,
Landing & Auction Space, Canteen Welfare Shop; Civil Work:
Quaywall;
Slipway and Facility. The scope of works under Tangalle
Fishery Harbour include: Rehabilitation of Facilities;
Rehabilitation of Break Water; Procurement of Slipway Facility .
TCIL provide the support for Architectural
Design, construction supervision and monitoring of project
activities.
· Earthquake
and Tsunami Emergency Support Project (Package 3-Agricultural
Component), Indonesia under ADB fund [ Grant No. 0002-INO] 2005-2008
The
agriculture component will cover about 11 affected districts in the
Aceh and North Sumatra provinces. The first phase districts (Aceh
Besar, Aceh Utara, Bireuen, Nias, and Pidie) include those where the
majority of the communities in the affected areas are intact and the
district implementation capacities are not severely affected. The
second phase focus on districts where sizable damage has occurred,
but need preparatory activities such as restoration of
accessibility, spatial planning, return of communities from the
refugee camps, and restoration of some implementation capacity (Aceh
Barat, Aceh Barat Daya, Aceh Jaya, Aceh Timur, Nagan Raya, and
Simelue).
TCIL provides consultant expertise, Project management,
Infrastructure Development for Rebuild and expansion of
infrastructure. The expert concern to the infrastructure identifies
the degree of loss and damage of infrastructure like road, dam,
culvert which hampers crop field and make action plan for rebuild of
these as well as make arrangement of implementation of that plan
through development project. Allocation of resources for the loss
occurred in godown and market: The traders are affected in any
disasters. Collaboration with govt. allocation for compensation is
identified and implement to the beneficiaries of the affected
localities. TCIL also provide services for expansion of post harvest
technologies. Market extension program is strength by this program.
Farmers' capacity needs to be enhanced in respect of cleaning,
grading, packaging, skill primary processing for value addition of
produce. The expert of this company prepared module on this program
and arrange training for the farmers as well as traders.

Feasibility
and Detailed Design of Subprojects under SSWRDSP-II, Bangladesh
under ADB fund [Loan No: 1831-BAN (SF)/TA NO: 3683-BAN] 2005-2008
This
Project will undertake implementation of a further 300 water
management subprojects located throughout the country. The overall
objectives of the Project are to support the Government’s poverty
reduction effort through the increase of sustainable agriculture and
fishery production. The Project’s objective is to develop
sustainable stakeholder-driven small-scale water resources
management systems with special attention to the poorer section of
the population. To undertake this work, service will be required of
qualified consultancy firms experienced in participatory water
resources development planning and design
and construction supervision of all the components related to
railway link including embankment, track, bridges, yards, other
civil structures, signals, and telecommunication. TCIL provide the
services to conduct field survey and social, agriculture,
fisheries, environmental and engineering data collection; Carry out
sub-soil investigation, laboratory testing and other necessary
investigations; Conduct engineering surveys; benchmark survey, cross
section survey, longitudinal survey of the existing embankment;
prepared approximate cost estimate of the above structures; Identify
and recommended various design options of project facilities
supported with hydrological and geo-technical analysis; Assist in
pre-qualification of contractors, bidding, evaluation of bids, and
awarding contracts; Carry out detail design for all structures and
drainage channels; Prepare detailed estimate of quantities, and
tender documents for structures and LCS documents for earthworks,
present design for structures and LCS documents for earthworks;
Prepare detailed drawings, specification, estimates, contract
documents and implementation plan; Review progress of works and
revised the overall plan as necessary;
Prepare Inception Report, Quarterly Progress Report, Annual
Reports and Draft Project Completion Report.

Southern
Province Rural Economic Advancement Project, Sri Lanka under ADB
fund [ADB Loan No. 1849 – SRI (SF)] 2004-2008
The
objective of the project is to support the Government’s efforts to
accelerate economic growth and create income and employment
opportunities in Southern Province. This is to be accomplished by
increasing private sector participation and supporting the
devolution of responsibility for planning and implementation to the
provincial and local governments. The Project will focus on (i)
establishing and expanding micro-, small-, and medium-sized
enterprises in the region; (ii) providing and maintaining key
economic infrastructure; and (iii) enhancing public and private
sector capacities to facilitate, support, and sustain the process of
economic growth. The Project comprises two interrelated parts that
will be implemented simultaneously. Part I is intended to stimulate
economic activity in the region and includes support to
(i) enterprise development services, and (ii) a credit line
for financing term loans. Part II is intended to build and enabling
environment for economic growth and includes support for (i)
providing rural infrastructure, particularly access roads and
markets; (ii) enhancing the technical and financial capacity in
local governments to maintain rural infrastructure; (iii) providing
skills and capacities at the provincial and Ministry of Southern
Region Development (MSRD) levels to facilitate private sector
participation in rural development; and (iv) providing project
administration and management. The consultant works directly in
cooperation with the Project Director and the heads of the units in
the PMO and will also closely work with the agencies like EDS,
Pradeshiya Sabhas, PFIs, NGOs, and other related organizations.

The objective of the project was to conduct a socio-economic impact
assessment of infrastructure project particularly power projects.
Review the related documents, existing information and the works
already done. Conduct survey on power project beneficiaries, which
includes rural households, industrial, commercial customers, to
investigate their livelihood and economic activities before and
after of this project. Monitoring the impact of electricity supply
on life quality and economic activities. Carry out necessary
analysis using the survey data, and financial and macroeconomic
information collected from the field and report preparation. TCIL
provided consultancy services on survey, data collection and carried
out necessary analysis using the survey data, and financial and
macroeconomic information collected from the field and report
preparation.

Policy
Instruments for Air Quality Improvement in South Asian Cities,
Dhaka, Bangladesh under ADB fund [ADB RSC No. C40203-BAN] 2004
The
scope of the study was cover: (i) an documentation of the level and
major sources of urban air emissions in the three cities, (ii) an
assessment of current economic incentives and MBIs (emission
charges, fees, taxes, etc. for stationary and mobile source); (iii)
a comparison of air pollution control policy tools, (iv) a
discussion of potential costs of air pollution and benefits of clean
air, (v) recommendations on potential economic incentives and MBIs;
(vi) an assessment of long-term requirements particularly to
encourage fuel switching to CNG; and (vii) dissemination activities.
Dissemination activities focused on presenting a clear program for
economic incentives and MBIs. The technical support and capacity
building provided on this aspect was aimed at sensitizing concerned
agencies on the urgency of implementing measures for air quality
improvement. The primary output of the study provided a menu of
policy options and a clear program for the implementation of air
quality management in the selected cities. TCIL
provided consultant expertise and total support services for the
project.

The
objective of the TA was to assist the Asian Development Bank in
conducting a socio-economic impact assessment of infrastructure
projects particularly power sector projects.
To assist ADB undertaking the project preparatory work;
survey design and implementation; analysis; report preparation;
project data, financial and macroeconomic information; technology
dissemination; and recommendation on the project evaluation. TCIL
provided consultancy services on survey, data collection and carried
out necessary analysis using the survey data, and financial and
macroeconomic information collected from the field and report

facilities with 100-120 MW capacity at Bakhrabad Gas Field on
commercial basis including technical aspects, legal aspects of
incorporating power generation activities into the AOA and MOA,
marketing aspects of generated energy, operation/maintenance set-up,
environmental and social impacts, cost for construction of plants,
preparation of complete project profile etc. TCIL provided
consultants in various categories such as Mechanical Engineer,
Economist, Legal Expert and Environmental Specialist and also
provided other relevant support services in carrying out the
techno-economic feasibility.

The
project undertakes
a pre-appraisal of the Gas Transmission and Distribution Project in
Indonesia. TCIL provided services for reviewing proposed
configuration, routing, construction arrangements, and operating
conditions of the gas transmission pipeline, prepared a social
analysis in accordance with ADB Guidelines, identified social impact
mitigation measures and determined the required arrangement for
implementation of such measures, identified poor to non-poor ratio
of the Project beneficiaries, identified direct and indirect poverty
reduction impacts in accordance with ADB Guidelines for Economic
Analysis of the Project.

supervision for improvement, extension of existing electrical system
of 30 sq. km. of two towns to supply electricity within the
statutory limits for the demands anticipated up to the year 2010.
TCIL was responsible for topographic survey and mapping, data
collection for augmentation of distribution system, planning and
design of distribution system, engineering studies, construction
supervision of lines and sub-stations and maintain co-ordination
with BPDB.

The
objective of the project was to develop sustainable stakeholder
driven small-scale water resources management system with special

extension, and aquaculture development. The components of this
feasibility study were field visits, survey, analysis, and
preparation of reports and documents, feasibility and detailed

Design of 10 Hydraulic Structures under SSWRDSP of LGED, Panchagar, Pirojpur,
and Chuadanga, Bangladesh under ADB fund, 1998
The project conducted
detailed design of ten hydraulic structures in different location of
Bangladesh with different design parameters. The structures were for
FCD (flood control and drainage), WRS (water retention structure),
and irrigation structure.

Reform of Bangladesh Railway (Phase-II), Bangladesh under ADB fund [ADB

Analysis
of the impact of the earlier phase of the Project and recommendation
necessary measures for organizational reform of Bangladesh Railway
(BR), TCIL main responsibilities include collect and analysis of
different records of BR; engage the local consultants, support staff
and logistics; all other assistance necessary for project

of the turn-key contractor's work for rehabilitation of the power
plant including sub-soil investigation, checking and approval of
design and drawings, supervision, installation and erection of
equipment, testing and commissioning of 3x20 MW
power plants. TCIL provided consultancy services including
sub-soil investigation, checking & approval of design and
drawings, supervision, installation and erection of equipment,
testing & commissioning of the Power Plants.

Energy
Conservation in the Industrial Sector of Bangladesh, Bangladesh,
under ADB fund [ADB
PPTA No. 1973-BAN]
1995-1996
The
objective of the project was to assist the government in formulating
energy conservation programs, technology restructuring and
investment recommendations in the identified industrial sub-sectors
(cement, fertilizer, sugar, pulp and paper, iron and steel, and jute
and textile). The conservation measures fell into three broad
categories: (i) improved house keeping measures; (ii) combustion
control and retrofit measures; and (iii) industry specific process
improvement. In addition, there also were options for fuel
substitution and cogeneration, i.e., simultaneous production of
electricity and thermal power. TCIL
provided consultants as well as local support service personnel and
all logistics.

Fourth
Railway Project: Jamuna Bridge Railway Link Project, Tangail and
Sirajganj, Bangladesh, under ADB fund [ADB
TA No. 2235-BAN]
1995 –1997
The project was to assist the Government of Bangladesh to assess
technical and economic feasibility including environmental, social
and other impact, for the provision of a meter-gauge railway on the
Jamuna bridge including railway approaches at both ends connecting
to the existing railway system. While the Jamuna bridge project
makes provision for a future meter-gauge railway, the railway
component was not included in the on-going project. TCIL provided
consultancy services for appropriate railway route options on both
sides of the Jamuna bridge on the basis of potential traffic,
rights-of-way availability, construction cost, land acquisition
costs, Survey & Report preparation, Different data analysis,
financial, economic and environmental, social and other impacts
analysis. Preparation of EIA and IEE of different project component.
Reviewed progress of works and revised the overall plan as
necessary. Prepared Inception Report, Quarterly Progress Report and

Physical
Features and Land Use Survey of Badda Area, Dhaka, Bangladesh under UNCHS
fund 1995
The
project objective was to provide base information on physical
features and land use for the planning, design and preliminary
costing of various development components emerging from the
preparation of Detailed Areas Plan. TCIL provided consultancy
services in the field of physical planning, drainage/municipal and
economic development as well as surveyors and draftsman for
undertaking the survey.

Dhaka
Integrated Flood Protection Loan Project: Detailed Engineering
Design and Construction Supervision, Dhaka, Bangladesh, under ADB
fund [ADB
Loan No. 1124-BAN (SF)]
1994-2000
The Project comprised of 136 sq km priority west area of the Dhaka
City. The objectives of the project were to provide a flood free and
secure living environment and to improve the urban efficiencies and
environmental conditions in Dhaka city for promotion of sustainable
long-term economic development. The Project consisted three
components, viz:
PART
A: Flood Protection Component consisting embankment, flood walls,
drainage regulators, flood control structures, first stage of
drainage pumping station at Goranchatbari, metalled road and
protective works under BWDB;
PART
B: Drainage Improvement Component which consisted of main khal
rehabilitation and upgrading, improvement of the secondary and
tertiary drains, and construction of pipe drainage facilities under
Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (DWASA); and
PART
C: Complementary Environmental Improvement Program which consisting
slum and squatter area upgrading, solid waste management and
improvements to sanitation, water supply and local drainage
facilities under Dhaka City Corporation (DCC).

Reform of Bangladesh Railway (Phase-I), Bangladesh, under ADB Fund,
1994
Analysis and recommendation for organizational reform of Bangladesh
Railway (BR) such as collect and analysis of different records of
BR; engage all the local consultants, support staff and logistics;
and all other assistance necessary for project implementation. TCIL
was responsible for collect

consultants, support staff and logistics; and all other assistance
necessary for project implementation.

Resettlement
of the affected people by Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge Project,
Bangladesh, under World Bank Fund, 1993 – 1994
Resettlement
of the affected people by Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge. The
consultants have been engaged to: (a) advise the JMBA-RU on
management decisions and related, (b) assist the JMBA-RU in
monitoring the effectiveness of the Resettlement Unit staff and
contracted agencies and recommend, and (c) to assist JMBA-RU with
preparation of instructions to executing agencies and JMBA staff.

of Fish Landing, Preservation and Distribution Project, Monoharkhali,
Bangladesh, under JICA Fund, 1992-1994
Establishment
of facilities for fish landing, preservation and distribution
including jetty, pontoon, whole-sale fish market, cold storage, ice
plant, administrative building, land reclamation and river
protection works, canal bridge and other project facilities. TCIL
was responsible for Co-ordination
and technical assistance in implementation supervision; Designing of
water supply and other ancillary facilities; Making of physical
model; and Liaison with the client at Chittagong and expatriate
consultant’s head office in Tokyo

Detailed
Engineering Design and Construction Supervision, and Project
Management Consultancy Services of Dhaka Integrated Flood Protection
Project (Bridging Services), Bangladesh, under ADB Fund [ADB

Rehabilitation
of the Western Flood Protection Embankment (Tongi-Gabtoli-Kellermorh)
by means of appropriate remedial measures determined through field
investigation and laboratory testing including design of 4 sluice
gates; design of about 14km long reinforced concrete box culvert;
re-sectioning and realigning of about 65 km long open channel of
which 6.19 km of RCC box culvert and 1.5km open channel have been
completed; design of the 3rd Pump House (1st Phase); rehabilitation
of floodwalls, detailed engineering design for 800m of embankment
and 800m of steel sheet pile from Kellarmorh to Mitford; soil
boring, soil testing and cross-section survey of western embankment
and left bank of Buriganga River from Kellarmorh to Mitford; raising
and flood proofing of the central spine road (from Jatrabari to
Tongi bridge) including design of 6 out of 13 sluice gates;
rehabilitation of pipe and canal drains and improvement of slum
areas; solid waste management for Dhaka city, EIA of the project;
preparation of BOQ, drawing of specifications; preparation of tender
documents; assisting Project Management Office of DIFPP in
evaluation of bids and award of contracts; supervision and
implementation work of FY 1991-92, monitoring and evaluation, and
establishing a PBME benchmark; motivating the beneficiaries for
their effective participation in project implementation and O&M.

of Biman and Civil Aviation, Bangladesh, under USAID fund, 1992
Detailed
survey and planning for upgrading to international standard of all
the airports in Bangladesh for efficient air traffic management.
TCIL provided consultancy services as well as support services with
all logistics.

1991
Feasibility
details for the flood protection, drainage and environmental
improvement of 136 sq km of Dhaka urban area; reviewing existing
financial and physical monitoring and reporting procedures of
government and design a set of simplified accounting, budgetary
control and management information systems; monitoring introduction
of cost recovery mechanisms agreed as a part of the project and
determine progress in the overall improvements related to revenue
generation and financial management. study the environmental
problems of Dhaka city. TCIL provided the financial analysis and
institutional development services.

Action Plan 12: FCD/I Agricultural Study, Bangladesh, under British
ODA and JICA Fund, 1991-1992
FAP
-12 aimed at assessment of the impacts of flood control, drainage,
and irrigation projects on environment, agriculture, livestock, and
fisheries and to recommend measures to overcome the constraints on
their effectiveness. TCIL
provided consultancy services on engineering and institutional
aspects of the project as well as support and logistic services to
the entire team of consultants.

Flood
Action Plan 13: Operation and Maintenance Study, Bangladesh, under
British ODA and JICA Fund, 1991- 1992
Studied
the effectiveness of O&M of FCD/I projects and to recommend
appropriate measures to overcome the constraints against effective
O&M and to ensure effective participation in the project
activities by the beneficiaries. TCIL provided consultancy services
in engineering and institutional aspects of the project as well as
logistic and support services to the entire team of consultants.

Basic
Design of Monoharkhali Fish Landing, Preservation and Distribution
Facilities Project, Chittagong, Bangladesh, under JICA Fund, 1991
The aim of the project was to provide the fishermen with modern fish
landing, storage and distribution facilities. Services included
sub-soil investigation, topographic and contour survey; marketing
survey; river current and tide survey; assistance in structural and
architectural design; and design of water supply and sanitary
facilities.

Improved
Retting Practices for Augmenting Quality of Jute in Bangladesh under
EEC fund, 1990-1998
Consultancy
services for excavation/re-excavation of derelict
ponds/tanks/canals/road-side ditches and khas ponds/tanks/canals
under EEC financed project "Improved Retting Practices for
Augmenting Quality of Jute in Bangladesh". Training of the
farmers in cultivation and retting for improving the jute fiber.
Assessment and suggestion on the effect of jute retting on
environment through motivation of the farmers for using improved
retting process. Technoconsult
provided the following services to Contour and topographic
survey and preparation of drawings; Preparation
of location map; Detail Design and drawing; Preparation of Bill of
Quantities; Preparation of tender schedule and specification;
Assisting in bid evaluation, selection of contractors and award of
contract; Construction management and quality control; Certification
of bills of the contractors; Training of farmers; and Motivation for
using the improved techniques of jute retting.

Study of Baramanikdi Sub-Project under Small Scale Flood Control,
Drainage and Irrigation Project, Faridpur, Bangladesh,
under IFAD Fund [IFAD Loan
No.137-BA] 1990
Post-implementation
evaluation of the Flood Control, Drainage and Irrigation Project of
Baramanikdi, executed by the Bangladesh Water Development Board with
IFAD loan (137-BA) and to recommend improvement measures. The
project components were (i) Engineering and soil survey; (ii)
Detailed socio-economic survey by questionnaire; (iii) Data
analysis; (iv) Preparation of the report; and (v) Environmental
impact of the project.
